Just a bit of history about Jen... Jen went to High School in Montgomery, Alabama where she graduated as a Thespian Honor Student. (She also received a Perfect Attendance Award.) Jen attended college at Black Hills State University in South Dakota, then continued her education with the M. Bjorkman music scholarship at Long Beach City College. There she was on the Honor Roll and Dean's List where she got her Associate of Arts Degree studying music theory, professional vocal solo & performance tech, theater appreciation, music appreciation and acting lessons. During that time, Jen performed in various a cappella jazz groups such as "4 Way Stop" and "7+1". Then later sang alto in a jazz group called "Corner Pocket" which eventually developed into alternative jazz band "Mere Image" where she was involved with arranging and composing original tunes! From 1996 until 2001 Jen was the alto in a vocal jazz sextet called Beachfront Property. The vocal group specialized in rich harmony and thick 6 part a cappella arrangements, head-lining for artists such as Mel Torme, The Hi-Lo's, The Four Freshman, The Brothers Four and Emerson Lake & Palmer. Touring all over the United States, performing live concerts at various universities, concert halls, jazz competitions, performing arts centers, music festivals, amphitheaters including the Greek theater, the Irvine Amphitheater and even the historical "Old Opera House" in Hawkinsville, GA where Oliver Hardy, (part of the comedy duo Laurel & Hardy) performed in a quartet on stage many decades ago! While Jen was with Beachfront Property, she spent time in many recording studios and was featured as back up vocalists on several artists' CD's including Maranatha - "Celtic Hymns", Dick Weller - "New West" as well as the CD "Until We Get it Right" by the Lime Lighters. Accompanied by famous pianist Jim Brickman, she participated in a sing-a-long "around the piano" with soap star Lisa Rinna & hubby, actor Harry Hamlin and a few other famous day time soap opera stars.
